Learning to code can be a significant pursuit invariable of the method of learning. Students have to put in a lot of time, money, and energy into it. Most of the coders want to start a tech career with the acquired skills. Many prospective students look for a coding bootcamp that comes with a job guarantee to get started with their new career in software and tech. Now, let’s discuss Thinkful Job Guarantee.

Thinkful’s bootcamp is a career-intensive program that offers 1-on-1 mentorship. The timeframe of its bootcamp is 6-months, which is a great perk. But the coding school also provides a job guarantee with a refund policy post-graduation. Let’s dive into what this is all about.

How do coding bootcamps help students land a job?

Thinkful Job

A job placement guarantee means that a student will get a job once he/she graduates, provided that they meet some criteria, like completing 100% of the course materials and applying to a given number of job openings.

Some of the leading bootcamps offer the following options.

  • The school/bootcamp platform will fully refund the tuition if the student doesn’t land a job within a specific time frame.
  • The school/bootcamp will assist the students in landing a full-time, salaried position at a firm.
  • The school/bootcamp will help them find apprenticeships, internships, and job offers.

There is another advantage of coding bootcamps. They also post their placement statistics, unlike colleges and universities. Usually, the statistics are audited and verified by third-party organizations like CIRR. This allows the student to identify schools with a good placement record.

One of the main reasons that coding bootcamps have a high success rate is that they regularly update their curriculum to suit this highly volatile industry’s needs.

Since the bootcamp students are regularly exposed to the latest technologies, tech employers recognize that they won’t have to train them extensively.

Read all about the school in Thinkful Review.

Thinkful Job Guarantee

Thinkful’s full-time online coding bootcamp spans over 20 weeks and teaches subjects like CSS, HTML, Git, Algorithms, and Python, among others. Apart from the knowledge and skills, they also guide their students to create strong portfolios, network with professionals in the field and prepare for job interviews. The cost of this bootcamp is between $7,990 and $16,000.

Apart from that, the school’s job guarantee shows their confidence in their course and curriculum. If a student doesn’t land a job in their field making at least $40,000/year within six months of the graduation date, they get a full refund of their tuition fees.

However, the job guarantee comes with certain conditions. If the student gives up on their job search easier, they’ll become ineligible for a refund. Luckily, that rarely happens, and over 80 percent of their graduates land a job within 180 days of graduation.

Thinkful Income Sharing Agreement (ISA)

Thinkful Income Share Agreement

Thinkful offers ISA-based financing. If the student chooses to pay through an ISA for their web development bootcamp, they will pay a total of 15% of the student’s income for the next three years after they land a job. But this is only applicable if the student lands a job that pays more than $40,000 per year.

If the student changes their job, then payments will stop until they get another job that pays more than $40,000 per year. The total amount a student owes will never exceed $28,000.

Another option is Thinkful’s Living Stipend. Under this model, students can receive a monthly stipend of $1,500 while they study. This is useful for the school’s full-time bootcamps since it gives students some financial assistance paying the bills while they devote their time to studying. Students can opt for this service in exchange for 15% of their annual income for four years.

Thinkful Tuition Refund Guarantee

Thinkful promises to refund 100% of the student’s tuition if they are not offered a qualifying position within 180 days of their graduation.

To take part in the tuition refund guarantee, students will be expected to meet certain requirements, like:

  • Graduating from the program on time.
  • Passing any background checks associated with any job that the student applies for.
  • Paying for the tuition using one of the following options:
  1. Month-to-month payment plan
  2. Up-front payment plan
  3. Loan payment plan

Final Note

We have finally arrived to the end note of Thinkful Job Guarantee. The school has a beneficial route that sits as a win-win for both the students and the school. Students who get trained by Thinkful are eligible for a refund if they do not get a job after graduation. With this policy, prospective students feel safe and consider it as a viable option when compared with other coding schools that do not offer a refund.

At Best Bootcamp, we do thorough research to facilitate prospective students with required information so that they can easily differentiate between features of each school and choose what best suits them.
